SpyGlass was chosen from approximately two hundred contenders to receive the Excellence Award in the Design Environment/Development Tools category. Factors influencing the selection of winners included product innovation, ability to address a real challenge, and customer acceptance. SpyGlass was chosen for its predictive analysis capabilities, which allow users to perform in-depth analysis of Verilog and VHDL at RTL creation phase, identify complex issues, and correct them before simulation and synthesis, thus saving time and money, stated Dr. Isao Shirakawa, professor of Information Systems Engineering at Osaka University and chairman of the LSI Design of the Year selection committee.
